I recently bought a really cheap digital video camera. The results have been fun, the quality mixed.
I hadn't heard of this band Evangelicals, though I guess they get a lot of love from the internet-indie industrial complex. I enjoyed them--it was gleefully over-the-top psychedelic Bowie rock. I had fun:
Nick introduced Headlights to me and about ten thousand others. Here's one song by them:
Finally, I can't remember if I posted this or not, but here's Bedford Academy playing at Bill Bar's for a ton of kids. I got about 20 minutes of their set, until the batteries on the thing died:

I'm all about New Beige. I'll admit it
I'm not sure how it happened exactly, but New Bedford's music scene is up to its ocean-viewing eyeballs in I don't give a damn talent.
At the Bedford Academy release show, a guy named Spanish Dancer opened. I'm not sure how I'd describe his music, and I'm not sure exactly what his relation to the NB area is, but I felt the urge to pass along this video anyway.
And if you haven't bought the Bedford album yet, there's no time like right right now.

HMR dominance of the mainstream media continues
Adam Arrigo---who somehow finds time to make really good music when he's not holding Boston's rock scene together with his bare hands---put together a feature about History Major Records for the magazine he edits, Northeast Performer.
It's a great, content-heavy publication geared towards indie musician types. Plus, it's free, so you really have no rationale for not grabbing it every month.
Here's a slightly diagonal scan of the thing about us:
Thank to the good people at Performer Mag for including us.
