I kept getting phone calls today from a number in Delaware. Which I repeatedly ignored. But finally I got an automated voicemail from a computer which claimed to be linked to my patriotic bank (of America!) saying that there was a suspicious charge on my credit card.
After ten minutes on hold, I got a live human being who said that someone in Britain had fleeced me for $2.95. That's all they wanted? Even criminals are charming in the UK! (Must be the accent.) Outraged, they told me the thief called herself "Waste Radiohead."
That's right, for under the price of a large coffee, I had bought the new Radiohead album.
No problem here, guvnah. Carry on.
Much much much has already been written about Radiohead's experiment. I won't waste your time with my opinion or even links to what others have been saying, but you might as well go buy the album. If only to keep them busy in Delaware.
