So, i've almost narrowed down my favorite releases of 2007. i just need to make some final adjustments but expect to see something soon. we've got some Battles, some Liars, Efterklang, Radiohead, Aesop, El-P, and much much more.
if you'd like to weight in and tell me what some of your favorite releases are i'd love to hear it. what never left your stereo? what really disappointed you. did you make any impulse buys that you are incredible happy with??????

also I'd have to say it was great when Brother Ali came to town and 2Mex, Existereo, and Life Rexall really rocked Boston this year.
those are really the only three hip-hop albums i loved that came out last year. brother ali's had some great stuff.
the subtle disc is so so good.

i want people to weigh in. so hip hop heads and indie art snobs alike give me some ideas. right now i've got some Vampire Weekend, Panda Bear, Cornelius, Amon Tobin, St. Vincent, and Liars. i'm up to 20 right now that i feel are pretty solid discs, but i'm sifting through about 120

my rules are just for me. i think everyone should make a Top 50 or 10 of 2007 and do it however they want.
the thing is, i really love a lot of the music that we and our friends put out. Have Heart, Shipwreck, Helms, Recaall, my friends in VIA Audio and Bishop Allen, et al. i think they all are great and i've seen some on other people's lists and i think they should be there. i just don't want to leave anyone out accidentally or be accused of payola haha.
we all know i want to write a dissertation on Helms and Secret Doors, but i want to be fair.
The Things We Carry came out in 2006.
